"Tell me again why I'm here," Rodney snorts impatiently. He's trying unsuccessfully to settle the tie, standing before the mirror.
Sheppard does not respond, intent on observing nails and try not to laugh: Rodney may be the most patient person in the world, if we talk about ancient technology, but with everything else? Not at all. Sheppard resist the temptation to get up and help him.
"I mean. It's not that there are no nasty-crisis misery-we-die-for once every nine days and thirteen hours," says Rodney. Rather than say, Rodney is muttering to himself, almost as if he had forgotten the presence of Sheppard in the room. Sheppard frowns, not happy about this latest development.
Sheppard says, "growls does not suit you," to provoke him. Rodney does not seem to listen to him.
"I want to say
, "he continues,
mouth curled into a grimace of anger, half impatiently," I mean . There could be another crisis between nine minutes and thirteen seconds. Who cares really a Christmas dinner when we all die in the next few hours? A who? " " Elizabeth, that's for sure. "Sheppard grins and relax a bit 'more about Rodney's bed. This is familiar territory. McKay talks and complains to great lengths while pretending Sheppard to listen to him and humor him. "I mean," he says, mimicking the intonation of Rodney, "is not you you could not predict
." McKay wrinkled her nose in a way impossible to Sheppard. Sheppard they have always impressed, but it lets you see: if there is one thing that can be said of McKay's ego, is that it has no need to be glazed. "Yes, safe," he mutters. Sheppard can almost see the complex mechanisms of the brain to switch from McKay 'interested in what Sheppard has to say' to 'honestly, focus on my voice is much better'. "As if you have the time to devote to such nonsense," he says. "I have no time for useless holiday," he says. "I have no time for socialization among military and civilians when I could concentrate on the new ZPM half load I've found two days ago, "he says.
Sheppard replies," What the ZPM ' we have found two days ago, McKay. "Weighted A pause." And Christmas is not useless, "he continues," do not tell me not to take at least a little food and gifts. "managed a little smile." You know, McKay. "
McKay has finally lose the tie and turns to Sheppard, frowning." What do you mean, you know ? "It seems to think it over, then his face relaxes and his eyes light up. Sheppard learned to fear that special spark."
Food
, "Rodney sighed." food. Stuffed turkey and baked potatoes. Pandoro and panettone. " A pause. "It presents , Sheppard! Christmas has nothing to envy to Thanksgiving, know this." Another pause. "I might even fly over on the obvious and absolute idiocy of this dinner. After all, there are reasons that if Elizabeth is in charge." Sheppard watching him indulgently. "Only you, McKay," he murmurs. "Only you." Rodney does not seem to listen to him, which is perfect: Sheppard did not want to show too much compassion in his side no one, nothing less than to McKay. Rodney Sheppard seems to intuit that something is wrong, because suddenly recovers from the torpor induced by thoughts of roast turkey and Christmas cakes. The Notes, tilting head to the side, as if to understand
what, exactly, is not normal. Sheppard knows that he must rightly feel uncomfortable, but fails, the system stretches and tie that brought out from your closet. McKay is still watching him.
Sheppard jumping on the bed and motioned him to start. "Come on, you will not want to be late, McKay," he smiles. "There might also be true of turkey."
The door opens and closes as they pass.
